Rhythm Mandir brings a fresh and vibrant touch to contemporary pop. Comprising of the trio, Arnie B, Ato, and Michael, Rhythm Mandir's sound is a seamless blend of the West with edgy Indian melodies, innovative beats, & occasional dashes of hip-hop. Rhythm Mandir has been featured on mainstream US and South American radio, Japanese dance halls, and has performed across the US to audiences of thousands of people. With past film composing credits, a playback song from Arnie B in a major Indian motion picture ('Peter Gaya Kaam Se') scheduled for a 2011 worldwide release, and several key performances across the nation, Rhythm Mandir continues to deliver their stamp on pop culture to an ever-expanding fan base.
Ato was born in Kerala, India, and raised in Dubai. Reached the United States to live the American dream and this is where it all happened. Having a degree in Mechanical Engineering didn’t really excite him. Definitely wasn’t him. Back in Dubai, he would jam on a Technics keyboard. After meeting his fellow band members, he discovered similar musical interests – and things just fell in place.
Musically, Abin is deeply influenced by AR Rahman, the famous Indian composer. Western influences include The Eagles, Guns & Roses, Bryan Adams, to name a few. He strongly believes that music is the universal language – a language known to all.
“…as a musician, I feel blessed to be a part of this medium of communication & I hope to inspire the world through our band’s music.”
Michael is the bassist and flute player of the band. His passion for travel has led him to explore many places around the world, and to develop a taste for many styles of music. Following several years of jazz training, Michael has cultivated his musical interests performing rock, jazz, Western classical, calypso, and R&B in various groups. He also played flute occasionally with a Christian gospel group from Kenya, and has shared stage with Anoushka Shankar, supporting her on the tanpura. He brings a unique blend of influences to the team.
